Successfully Implementing PQRI Within a Radiology Practice
GOAL:
To identify steps and stakeholders necessary to successfully implement PQRI within a hospital-based practice or free standing imaging center.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Understand the PQRI program as offered by CMS
2. Explore how the PQRI program pertains to radiology and would benefit providers both financially and clinically
3. Identify the tips and traps to increase the successful implementation of PQRI within your practice
ABSTRACT:
Only 16% of radiologists participated in PQRI during the 2007 reporting period. Since that time, many providers and administrative staff are taking a second look at the benefits of participation. As the bonus increases, and addtional initiatives are linked to PQRI, it is worth the time and resources to consider implementation.
An overview of the PQRI program will be provided, as well as an in-depth look at those measures that specifically pertain to a diagnostic imaging center. Finally participants will learn tips and traps to successfully implementing PQRI within their practice/facility.
