This session is designed to help participants understand the differences among the various types of MRI and MRA exams and code correctly for them. Procedure techniques will be briefly reviewed, followed by in-depth review and discussion of procedure coding guidelines. The session will focus on services that are challenging to code and bill for, including MRA, functional MRI, cardiac MRI, breast MRI, MR arthrograms, MRCP, and others. Relevant billing and payment information for each exam will also be discussed, including bundling/CCI edits, coverage restrictions, modifier use, etc.
At the end of the session, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions related to topics covered in the session.
This session is appropriate for professionals who deal with both professional (physician) service and hospital outpatient billing.
